Preparations before rolling bearing installation

Before the bearing is installed, appropriate measuring tools should be used to check the processing quality of the shaft and seat hole and related parts such as dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy and surface roughness in accordance with the technical requirements on the design drawing.

If there are bumps, burrs, rust spots, or solid particles (such as abrasive debris, sand, dirt) on the assembly surface of the shaft and the seat hole, not only will the bearing installation be difficult and the installation position will be incorrect, but solid particles such as The inside of the bearing will have a grinding effect. When the bearing rotates, it will wear or scratch the working surface of the bearing. Therefore, it must be carefully checked before installation. If the above defects are found, they should be corrected. For example, use an oil file to remove burrs, bumps, rust spots, and polish with a fine abrasive cloth, such as cleaning solid particles, dirt and so on.

The assembly surface should be cleaned with a solution of clean gasoline, kerosene, toluene or xylene, wiped with a clean rag, and then coated with a thin layer of lubricant, which can make installation operations more convenient.

Immediately after installation, open the bearing package, immerse it in the above liquid such as gasoline, and slowly rotate it by hand. Make sure that the packing oil on the surface of the cage, rolling elements and raceways is thoroughly cleaned.

When cleaning a large number of bearings, first use hot engine oil with a temperature of 90 to 100 ° C to melt the sealing oil. At the same time, use a tool with no sharp edges and chips to dig out all the old oil, rinse it for a few minutes, and then rinse with kerosene Remove the oil and clean it again with gasoline. After cleaning, wear film gloves and place the bearings on a clean cloth or paper on the workbench to dry.

Note that sealed bearings cannot be cleaned by this method, and the inside of the seal should not be cleaned.
